The Pokemon Company and Yokohama City have announced the return of the annual Pikachu Mass Outbreak, a popular week long event featuring massive amounts of Pikachu dancing and parading through the streets of Yokohama.
The theme for 2018’s Pikachu Mass Outbreak is “Science Is Amazing”. This is the fifth Pikachu Mass Outbreak event that is taking place.
For the first time in 5 years, Pikachu Mass Outbreak: Science Is Amazing will not only take place in the afternoon, but in the evening as well! Also, for the very first time, digital technology will be utilized during Pikachu Mass Outbreak performances in the evening. Over 1500 Pikachu mascots will take part in the event, scheduled to be held from August 10, 2018 to August 16.

And the Digital Splash Show:
Lastly, in collaboration with Panasonic, an “Ocean Pikachu Parade” will be held for the very first time, with the use of Digital Technology.
