Pikachu Pure Gummy Shortage Hits Japan, Scalpers Cash In On Demand

Back in May 2020, Japanese sour candy and gummy company Kanro announced a new line of Pikachu Tropical Flavor Pure Gumi (gummy) in Japan.

Shortly after the gummy were released, customers complained that it has become very hard to purchase the product. Kanro says that the high demand has caught them off guard.

Accompanying the shortages are scalpers who are now reselling the gummy for as much as 3000 yen (close to USD30) on auction sites:

Although Kanro has advised customers not to purchase the gummy from scalpers, they did not indicate when restocks will arrive at this time.
