Pikmin 3 Deluxe Becomes The Fastest-Selling Game In The Series In Japan, Soon To Be Best-Selling Entry
Japanese magazine Famitsu has released some updated sales figures for Pikmin 3 Deluxe, revealing just how well the game is doing in Japan.
According to the latest figures, Pikmin 3 Deluxe has reached 499K physical units sold in Japan. This is an impressive feat considering the game has only been out for a few months. This has made the enhanced port the fastest-selling game in the series for Japan. That said, the game’s actual sales are likely a bit higher since this figure does not take into account digital sales.
To put things in perspective, the original Pikmin 3 for the WiiU achieved around 200K lifetime sales in Japan, while Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 1 sold roughly 480k units and 500k units respectively. As such, it seems inevitable that Pikmin 3 Deluxe will soon surpass the original to become the best selling entry in the series, if it hasn’t already with the addition of digital sales.
