Earlier this month, Niantic released Pikmin Bloom, their long awaited AR game based on the Pikmin franchise.
Since then, market analyst Sensor Tower has published some new data revealing just how well the game has been performing since launch.
As shared by Eurogamer, Sensor Tower’s data showed that Pikmin Bloom was downloaded around 2 million times since its launch two weeks ago. Out of these 2 million, most of the downloads were from the series’ home country of Japan at 864,000, with the US and UK having the second and third highest number of downloads respectively.
In terms of player spending, Pikmin Bloom has generated $473,000 in revenue over the past two weeks, again, most of the player spending coming from Japan.
In comparison to Niantic’s other Nintendo outing, Pokemon GO was downloaded 75 million times in its first two weeks, and generated $116 million dollars in revenue.
Moving forward, it would be interesting to see how Pikmin Bloom will grow as more features are developed and added, although it might be a bit unreasonable to expect the game to ever reach the same heights as Pokemon GO. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
