Back in 2013, Platinum Games joined hands with Nintendo to create The Wonderful 101, a unique action game inspired by colorful superheroes from Japan.
Now, it seems Platinum Games has now taken full ownership of the IP. As shared by Joseki100 on Reddit, a request was filed to the United States Patent and Trademark Office requesting they transfer the trademark of The Wonderful 101 from Nintendo to Platinum Games.
This request includes a a Notice of Recordation of Assignment document, dated August 19th, which confirms that the trademark was transferred and registered to Platinum Games on September 9th 2024.
At the time of this writing, Platinum Games has yet to discuss any future plans for The Wonderful 101, which received a remaster for Switch back in 2020. We will be sure to report back with any updates should they become available.
