Earlier this month, PlatinumGames had revealed and successfully Kickstarted a crowdfunding campaign to self-publish The Wonderful 101: Remastered on Switch, PC, and PS4. Since then, some fans have been hoping to see the Bayonetta series go multi-platform too – and it looks like PlatinumGames isn’t opposed to the idea at all!
In a recent interview with IGN Japan, PlatinumGames head Atsushi Inaba stated that the studio was indeed interested in self-publishing the Bayonetta IP – just like it was doing with The Wonderful 101: Remastered. Ideally, this would allow the series to reach a wider audience than before.
However, Inaba then added that this would be more challenging overall, since SEGA and Nintendo both co-own the Bayonetta franchise right now. In his own words, PlatinumGames would need a lot more than the $50,000 they asked backers for in their Wonderful 101: Remastered Kickstarter campaign.
What do you think? Could we see Bayonetta 2 or even Bayonetta 3 hit other non-Nintendo platforms in the far future? Feel free to share your thoughts below!
