Last year, PlatinumGames played an April Fool’s prank on everyone by “revealing” Sol Cresta, a non-existent sequel to the Cresta series of shoot ’em ups.
Today on April Fool’s Day 2021, the developer has apparently decided to actually make Sol Cresta into the real game in partnership with Hamster. Described as the first entry in their “Neo-Classic Arcade” series, the announcement comes alongside a new trailer which shows off the title’s retro-style graphics and gameplay. The Japanese version of the trailer also says “Now In Development” as if to reassure viewers that its really happening this time.
