Players Discover Permanent Cliff Bug In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Creating your perfect dream island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? You might want to be wary not to build your cliffs too high.

Several players have noted a new bug in the game which can cause fourth-level cliffs to become unbreakable, even with the Island Designer tools. The problem occurs if a player creates a fourth-level cliff and then pops a balloon above it with the slingshot – leaving a present on top.

Consequently, the cliff cannot be removed, as there is an item present. As it is impossible to climb up fourth-level cliffs, players also cannot go up to retrieve the present either – and this vicious cycle is what makes the cliff unbreakable. Not even requesting for a clean-up helps in this situation, sadly.

For now, it’s not clear if Nintendo is aware of this design oversight for fourth-level cliffs. Let’s hope they patch in some sort of solution soon.

We’ll report back if this issue gets addressed in the future. Stay tuned.
