Players Who Buy Deltarune On Switch 1 Will Get Switch 2 Version For Free

Toby Fox has released the latest installment of the Deltarune newsletter, revealing more details about its upcoming full release.

In the letter, Fox confirms that the game will release on 12 midnight local time for Switch 2, and at 12AM JST for all other platforms including the Switch 1. Fox also confirms that the game will have cross-buy in most countries, meaning that players who buy the game on Switch 1 will have access to the Switch 2 version for free. Japan is the only exception, where local laws require players to pay a small fee to get the second version for free.

If you buy the game on Nintendo Switch and decide you want the Switch 2 version later, you can get it at no additional cost!* And vice-versa! (Except in Japan, where local laws require us to charge a small fee.) That’s right, for one single price, you’ll be able to get both versions of the game – that means both versions of the special room! Mee-yow, my FOMO’s clearing right up!!!

* To get the second version at no additional cost, you need to get both of them using the same Nintendo Account.

You can read the full newsletter here for more details.
