The Pokemon Company has announced a temporary closure for Pokemon Center Singapore.
The outlet, which is located in the Jewel mall, will be temporarily closed for renewal works from April 1st 2026. This renewal will be completed in the third quarter of 2026, and will feature “Singapore heritage-inspired installations alongside interior design elements inspired by everyday local culture”.
A “new symbolic Pokemon representing the “unique charm of Singapore” ” will also be introduced, presumably replacing the current mascot Lapras. It is not known if this will be an existing Pokemon or a brand new one given the recent announcement of Pokemon Winds and Waves, which is reportedly inspired by Southeast Asia.
While the Pokemon Center is undergoing renovations, Pokemon Pop-Up stores will appear at Changi Airport (from April 1st) and the Plaza Singapura mall (from April 6th) for locals to get their Pokemon merch fix. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
