Niantic, the creators of Pokemon GO and Pikmin Bloom are reportedly looking to sell off their game business.
This is according to a report published by Bloomberg, whose inside sources claim that Niantic is in talks to sell their game business to Saudi Arabia-backed Scopely Inc for $3.5 billion. Scopely Inc is owned by Savvy Games Group, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. The PIF owns stake in a number of different game companies, including a 6.3% stake in Nintendo.
While the deal itself has yet to be made official, but if it does go through, the insiders expect it could be officially announced sometime in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
