Niantic has announced a total of 1.5 billion Pokemon have been captured by Pokemon GO players around the world as of today.
With the 1.5 billion goal hit, the Pokemon spawn rate has increased, experience rate has doubled, lure modules last for 6 hours instead of 1, and the amount of Star Dust earned has been multiplied by 2.
The last reward tier, unlocked at 3 billion Pokemon, will activate spawns of Farfetch’d (East Asia exclusive) worldwide and Kangaskhan (Australia exclusive) in East Asia.
