Pokemon GO Has Made USD2.5 Billion Since Launch

Mobile analytics firm Sensor Tower has published their latest report on Pokemon GO’s earnings for the month of March 2019.

According to the latest report, Sensor Tower estimates Pokemon GO has generated over USD2.5 billion in revenue since its launch in July 2016. This means players have spent around USD78 million a month on average since Pokemon GO’s initial debut.

Sensor Tower also reports that players are spending more and faster than 2018. In the first quarter of 2019, Pokemon GO made roughly USD205 million, equivalent to nearly USD4 million a day. That is higher than the USD2.3 million a day average from the first quarter of 2018.

The United States has overtaken Japan to become Pokemon GO’s No. 1 market of spenders. The US contributes 35% in terms of spending, followed by Japan’s 29%, and Germany’s distant 6%. The Japanese spend more per download at an average of USD42, compared to the Americans’ USD9.50.

Overall, Pokemon GO was the seventh highest revenue generating smartphone game for March 2018, and the app saw its player sending increase by 6% from USD63 million to USD67 million on a year-on-year basis.
