Pokémon GO Revenue Saw A 84% Growth Compared To January 2018

Niantic proves that Pokémon GO just keeps going.

Pokemon GO’s year-over-year revenue growth showed that it was 84 percent over January 2018 according to Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence data.

This means it made $68.1 million in total from iOS and Android players worldwide.

That was up from the $37 million estimate that the game grossed during the same month in 2018.

Sensortower explains where this revenue came from in their article about the incredible growth for the app.

Last month’s revenue came primarily from players in Japan, who accounted for about 35 percent of revenue or approximately $23.8 million. This was up slightly from the 34 percent of revenue the country’s players contributed in January 2018. In the United States, the game’s monetizing player base spent approximately $19.7 million, or 29 percent of its revenue for the month, up from 28 percent a year ago.

Pokémon GO ranked as the world’s No. 10 grossing mobile app overall last month and the No. 8 earning game.

Compared to January 2018, this is a major level up from when it ranked No. 19 overall and No. 17 among games.
