Pokemon Go’s PvP Trainer Battle feature is now available but not without some challenges.
Niantic Support has tweeted out the following statement about the game just 2 hours ago:
“Trainers, we’ve received reports of Pokémon being unable to cause damage during Trainer Battles and we’re working on resolving this issue. In the meantime, make sure that your device’s time is set to update automatically, which should resolve this issue. Thanks for your patience.”
This is the latest issue in the release of Pokemon Go’s newest ingame feature.
TheSilphRoad thread on Reddit has a post named all of the potential issues which include:
Trainers don’t start fight in sync, you can start taking damage why before it starts.
many cases of trainers not registering attacks, nothing to press etc.
Lag and sync issues seems serious, sometimes opponent switched, and you don’t even see it.
Battles freezes half way, only way to continue is to kill the app.
Charge and Shield move use not in sync, it says you have 3 secs, but you are hit already.
Reddit user diamondstark reports not being able to see battle UI but the battle would still carry on and result in a loss.
Some users such as luckyd1998 report that Alolan forms appear to have the typings of their Kanto versions when AI use them to battle.
These AI opponents are the team leaders Blanche, Candela, and Spark who each represent Team Mystic, Team Valor, and Team Instinct.
If you have been able to battle, here’s more information on how to Battle nearby trainers and train with Blanche, Candela and Spark, check out this article from GameRant.
