Today we have more details to share with you about Pokemon Home, the new Pokemon cloud service launching February 2020.
According to The Pokemon Company’s official FAQ database, a Nintendo Switch Online subscription isn’t necessary to use Pokemon Home. However, it’s still necessary for receiving ranked match battle details from Pokemon Sword/Shield.
We have also learned how the Pokemon Bank to Pokemon Home transfer works. You’ll first have to link your Nintendo Network ID to your Nintendo Account, and then link your Nintendo Account to Pokemon Home on Nintendo Switch. There will be a function that allows you to transfer all the Pokemon you have in Pokemon Bank in one shot.
Please keep in mind a Nintendo Account isn’t necessary for Pokemon Home on both smartphone and Switch – it’s only required if you want to transfer from Pokemon Bank to Home.
What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
UPDATE:
There is also a second method which doesn’t require you to link your Nintendo Network ID to your Nintendo Account. You have to enter a code on Pokemon Bank on Nintendo 3DS, and from there, you can select the boxes of Pokemon you wish to transfer. This will also allow your family or friends who have a Pokemon Bank account to transfer their Pokemon into your Pokemon Home account.
