Earlier this month, Pokemon HOME made a splash on the Nintendo Switch – allowing fans to finally collect all their Pokemon in one place. Well, it looks like app is also hiding some fun secrets of its own, which observant folks are now digging up!
@mattyoukhana, a dataminer during the days leading up to Pokemon Sword/Shield‘s release, has returned with an interesting datamine from the Pokemon collection app. In particular, he discovered what appears to be a completely new sound for the Pokemon Jynx – which you can listen to below.
As Matt speculates along with other fans, this reverbed cry could point to Jynx getting a new form of some sort in the future. In fact, the reverbed nature of this cry seems to point the most to a gigantamax form for the Pokemon – as it resembles the same reverb for pokemon that go dynamax or gigantamax in general. A mega-evolution is also not out of the picture, but Game Freak hasn’t brought back the feature in the latest mainline Pokemon games. A galarian form is also possible, since galarian slowpoke has a different cry.
For all we know, this discovery could really just be leftover data in Pokemon HOME. We’ll just have to wait and see if The Pokemon Company reveals anything Jynx-related in the future.
