Famitsu has published its latest gaming sales figures for the week ending October 19th 2025, revealing just how well Pokemon Legends Z-A performed in Japan on launch.
According to Famitsu’s data, the new Pokemon Legends game sold a total of 1,485,457 physical game units in its first couple of days on the market, including both the Switch and Switch 2 versions.
This figure not only made the game the highest selling physical game for the week, but also surpasses that of its predecessor Pokemon Legends Arceus, which sold 1,424,657 units during its own launch week.
The breakdown of sales for the two editions was as follows:
Given that this is only counting physical game units, it is likely that the game’s actual sales figures are much higher both in Japan and worldwide. We will be sure to report back with updated numbers as they become available.
