DeNA has revealed some new details about upcoming updates heading for Pokemon Masters EX.
As shared in their news post, these updates mainly revolve around preparing for the game’s 1.5 year anniversary. It includes the ongoing “Give and Take” Legendary event, the addition of new sync pairs and other events. Among the new additions is Piers & Obstagoon, the Dark-Type Gym Leader from Pokemon Sword And Shield.
In addition, the developers have also confirmed that new features called “Master Sync Pairs” will be added to the game once the 1.5 year anniversary rolls around.

Run-Up To 1.5 Year Anniversary
- Give And Take Legendary Event adding Professor Sycamore & Xerneas, Lysandre & Yveltal
- Main Story Update on February 17th
- Piers & Obstagoon added to the game via Sync Pair Scout February 17th
- Cresselia Legendary Arena
- Lance & Dragonite, Sygna Suit Cynthia & Kommo-o 6* unlock, Pokefair Scout coming February 21st
- Training Area Reward Boost Rally coming February 21st
1.5 Year Anniversary (February 25th)
- Master Sync Pairs
- A new type of Sync Pair with unique passive skills.
- Available via Master Fair, a special type of Poke Fair scout with different mechanics.
- Theme Skills Update
- New types of Theme Skills will be added beyond what is currently available.
