Pokemon Scarlet/Violet “Dragon King Qualifier” Online Competition Announced

The Pokemon Company has announced a new online competition for Pokemon Scarlet And Violet.

The competition is called “Dragon King Qualifier”, and is a single battle competition using Regulation E rules, with an additional requirement that players use Koraidon or Miraidon on their team. Registration is open from November 20th until December 1st 2023, with the competition itself running from December 1st through December 3rd 2023.

Notably, in Japan this tournament will serve as a qualifier for the annual Dragon King Tournament that will be held on February 25th 2024, specifically the VGC category. VGC for that tournament will run on Regulation F rules, and will require participants to have a Pokemon with a Dragon Tera Type on their team.
