Nintendo has published their latest earnings report for the nine months ending December 31st 2022, which reveals that Pokemon Scarlet And Violet have crossed another major milestone.
According to Nintendo’s figures, the latest entries in the Pokemon franchise have crossed 20.61 million units sold since their launch back in November. Nintendo further states that this is the “fastest start” for any title released on any Nintendo videogame platform, having achieved 18.2 million of those units within its first 7 weeks.
As pointed out by Serebii.net’s Joe Merrick, this also makes Pokemon Scarlet And Violet the fourth best-selling Pokemon game of all time, beaten out by Gold/Silver in 3rd, Sword/Shield in 2nd, and the original Red/Green/Blue in 1st.
Given that Pokemon Scarlet And Violet are still in their early stages of release, one wonders whether they will be the games to finally topple the original Red/Blue/Green‘s unbroken record as the best-selling Pokemon titles of all time. Stay tuned for more as it comes.
