There’s not much information on how the core Pokemon RPG will be like on Nintendo Switch. Previously announced at E3 this year, the only thing that was revealed is its existence and it will come in “2018 or later”.
The Pokemon Company Tsunekazu Ishihara dropped some hints in an interview with Bloomberg on what they are trying to work on for the next entry on Switch.
Ishihara said with the capabilities of the Switch, they will be able to create a Pokemon game that “goes deeper and with a higher level of expression”. In his words, what this means is a “whole different world with graphics and sounds”.
The Chief Executive also mentioned about how 2 players can play together on the Switch by sharing Joy-Con, which The Pokemon Company is wondering how to take advantage of and “not make things complicated”.
In addition, Ishihara doesn’t rule out releasing new Pokemon themed Nintendo Switch accessories, and there shouldn’t be much difference in terms of online gameplay as the Switch is fundamentally identical to a Nintendo 3DS in terms of network connectivity.
