Pokemon Sword/Shield Sales Cross 17.3 Million Units, Now Nintendo’s 5th Bestselling Switch Title Ever

Today, Nintendo released their financial results for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2020 – which highlights some of the company’s top-selling titles, such as Pokemon Sword/Shield.

According to the report, the new Pokemon games have sold a total of 17.3 million units as of March 31, 2020. This easily surpasses the current sales figures of 2018’s Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee (11.9 million units) – making Pokemon Sword/Shield Nintendo’s 5th bestselling during the Switch’s lifetime.

All in all, Nintendo is expecting to continue the games’ success this year with the upcoming Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra expansion DLCs – which will add new locations for trainers to explore.

What do you think of Pokemon Sword/Shield‘s impressive sales figures? Feel free to share your thoughts below.
