The Pokemon Company has announced that they will be ending service for Pokemon Unite in Belgium and The Netherlands.
From October 31st 2024, players living in those regions will no longer be able to register or renew their memberships, as well as not be able to purchase any more premium currency. The game itself will no longer be available to play on November 3oth 2025, giving players from the affected countries a little over a year to continue playing before the end.
Although not explicitly stated, it is believed that the shutdown has something to do with Belgium and The Netherlands having very strict anti-lootbox laws, which also prevents Pokemon Masters EX and Pokemon TCG Pocket from operating in those countries.
