Last month, a report surfaced claiming that the sequel to the highly popular Detective Pikachu film was still in active development, despite there being little in the way of official announcements or acknowledgements.
According to a new article published by Deadline, Legendary Pictures is in talks with Jonathan Krisel to direct the film, whose credits include co-creating the sketch-comedy series Portlandia, as well as the dramedy series Baskets. Deadline’s article also says that Chris Galletta, screenwriter for The Kings Of Summer, will pen the Detective Pikachu sequel’s script.
If Deadline’s claims are accurate, it seems that the movie has yet to start filming proper, and we will likely not see anything concrete about it any time soon. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
