Another round of Switch games have been approved for import into China, with one very notable omission.
As reported by Chinese Nintendo, three new Switch games have been approved to be imported into China: Samurai Shodown, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and Pokemon Let’s GO Eevee. What’s curious about this list is that the other game in the Let’s GO series, Let’s GO Pikachu, is not present, leading to speculation that it had been rejected for reasons unknown.
Chinese Nintendo also reports that this has led to widespread ridicule from Chinese netizens, who joked that “only half of the Pokemon game is approved in China”, alongside a grayscale image of Let’s GO Pikachu‘s cover art. Presumably, these jokes will continue until the game is eventually approved, if at all.
