It looks like a couple of Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have had enough of plain old fruit trees on their island.
Apparently some players have managed to create their own ‘star fragment trees’ in the game. This was apparently achieved via save-editor hacking, which allowed them to swap out the bell bags on money trees with star fragments instead. Alternatively, some have traded these trees with other folks through online interactions.

If you’re thinking of trying this yourself, however – you might want to think thrice. Nintendo does have telemetry built into the game, so they might be able to detect if you’re messing with trees in this manner.
Nevertheless, this simple modification really makes us wish that star fragment trees were actually a real thing! We can only hope that Nintendo is planning something like this in the future.
