Realistic Pokemon Artist Shares His Eerie Renditions Of Impidimp, Morgrem, And Grimmsnarl
By now, long-time readers will no doubt know about artist R J Palmer: the realistic Pokemon artist who eventually worked on the Detective Pikachu movie. Well, he’s finally back to illustrating bizarre versions of Pokemon at his own discretion – and his first work in a long time is already looking as freaky as we’ve come to expect!
Earlier today, Palmer shared his own realistic take on the Impidimp, Morgrem, and Grimmsnarl evolution line – which resemble gremlins in Pokemon Sword/Shield. As you’ll see below, however – Palmer has instead re-imagined them as grotesque simians (i.e. apes) instead!
Presenting Grimmsnarl, the greasy strangler! This is my first new piece for my Realistic Pokemon series in almost 4 years. A lot has happened since then, including working on Detective Pikachu, so I wanted to update the formula a smidge. Look at my giant hairy child. pic.twitter.com/Jw8fLrbmIa

Grimmsnarl is certainly the most unnerving to us – especially with its upturned lip that resembles a pointed nose. Still, it’s good to see that Palmer hasn’t lost his knack for freaking Pokemon fans out!
What do you think of R J Palmer’s re-creation of these three Pokemon? Feel free to share your thoughts below!
