Reggie Explains How The Nintendo Switch Will Remain Successful

In a recent Hollywood Reporter interview, Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Nintendo of America, shared how Nintendo will continue to ensure the Switch remains a success.

First, Reggie confirmed that the Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe set and the Cyber Monday USD35 credit offer sold out almost immediately during the Thanksgiving period. Sales doubled during this period of time as compared to Thanksgiving 2017.

Nintendo’s plan for the long term success of Nintendo Switch is very simple – keep offering new and high quality games to consumers. That way, consumers will be more likely to purchase a Nintendo Switch for a library of high quality games, rather than just the most recent title out in the market.

Reggie also added that Nintendo’s most precious IP such as Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda continue to remain relevant as developers fully understand them and continue to innovate without taking out the essential parts of what made them successful. He cited The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey as examples of this.
