Rules For Official Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament Refer To A Feature That Doesn’t Exist

A few days ago, Nintendo of America announced the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate North America Open 2019, an official competition that will kick off in February 2019.

Twitter user @roebruh has spotted a huge mistake in the terms and conditions. In the section that details what players should do if they are disconnected, the player that is disconnected during the tournament must submit video evidence recorded via the native Video Capture feature on Nintendo Switch.

Disconnection: If a player disconnects during a game after at least 1 minute has transpired or they have been KO’d once, the player forfeits the match. In the event of a dispute, the player that experiences the disconnection is responsible for providing video evidence of the disconnection via the Nintendo Switch Capture feature.”

The problem with this, however, is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate does not support the Video Capture function on Switch at this time, so the terms and conditions are incorrect. That is, unless Nintendo has plans to patch it Video Capture in before February.

Other errors found in the terms and conditions include a dead Discord link.
