Dataminers Discover Additional Pokemon Beyond Galar Dex In Pokemon Sword And Shield Code

Dataminers have finally gotten their hands on a copy of Pokemon Sword And Shield, and have made some interesting discoveries not already uncovered by leakers.

Beyond the image below is information that could be considered spoilers for the games. Do NOT read on if you wish to remain Spoiler-Free

Firstly, dataminers have discovered a spritesheet for every Pokemon icon in the game. Notably, the sheet includes Pokemon that were not previously confirmed to be part of the Galar Dex, as well as some unseen Gigantamax forms. Stats and models for these new returning Pokemon was also found.

These new additions bring the total number of available Pokemon from 400 to 433. You can view the spritesheet for yourself below, along with a list of new additions:

Furthermore, while Gamefreak scrubbed the games clean of any other Pokemon not on the list, it appears they forgot to adjust the “Max Species ID” code which apparently reads “435”, leaving two more Pokemon unaccounted for. These two missing Pokemon are speculated to be Gen 8’s Mythicals.

As of this writing, it is not clear how these additional Pokemon will be obtained in-game, through DLC or otherwise. We will be sure to report back with more information as it comes.
