A few weeks ago, an internal presentation from Epic Games surfaced as part of the Epic v. Apple trial, which contained plans suggesting that Samus Aran from Metroid was at some point planned to crossover into Fortnite.
Since then, some new evidence has surfaced that this planned crossover is still in the works at Epic. In the third issue of the Batman/Fortnite Zero Point tie-in comic, a silhouette that strongly resembles Samus’ iconic Power Suit can be seen standing alongside silhouettes of Ryu and Chun-Li, both of whom have recently made their own debuts in Fortnite.
A comparison can be found below, as shared by DynamoSuperX on Twitter:
Aside from this mysterious silhouette, the major reveal of this issue was the appearance of DC Comics villain Deathstroke, who was teased in a press release by writer Christos Gage earlier this year. As brought up by Comicbook.com, Gage also teased that there may be other major cameos showing up in future issues, although it is unknown if he was referring specifically to DC characters, or crossover characters in general:
“At the end of issue three and the beginning of issue four, that character [Deathstroke] shows up. And then there will be some other characters showing up. In the final issue, we have some more characters showing up. Hopefully, there’ll be more surprises.”
