Several hours ago, Nintendo revealed a special edition Switch OLED based on Splatoon 3 for release in August.
However, it seems that this special edition OLED may not be the only surprise Nintendo has in store for the console. In a series of posts on the Chinese social media site Baidu, a netizen going by GraffitiMAX who correctly predicted the Splatoon 3 OLED model hinted that the company has a new, more powerful Switch model planned for September 2022. A translation of these posts can be found below, via ResetERA:
GraffitiMAX : Possibly a oled of spray 3 tonight
GraffitiMAX : I already said it in last month’s post, I expect it to be announced in September
GraffitiMAX : Reply to Hey_’s side : The dawn of 60 frames, only know so much
This supposed leak appears to line up with the speculation caused by Nintendo taking down several videos related to the Switch Lite and OLED model, although this could easily have been done to avoid confusion with the Splatoon 3 OLED. Furthermore, this is not the first time a supposed insider has claimed that a “Switch Pro” is coming soon, only to be proven mistaken.
As always, we caution readers to take this information with a grain of salt, and we will be sure to report back once we hear more.
