Rumor: Dataminers Discover Support For 4K Resolution In Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door’s Switch Remake
With the game starting to land in the hands of players worldwide, dataminers have made an interesting discovery in the code of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door‘s Switch remake.
According to dataminers such as @RibShark, the game includes code for handling 4K resolution. The Nintendo Switch does not support 4K resolution, leading many to speculate that this could be in preparation for the Switch’s successor, which has long been rumored to support backwards compatibility with enhancements. Similar speculation was inspired by datamined code from Endless Ocean: Luminous.
There seems to be code for handling 4K resolutions in the new Paper Mario TTYD remake. No idea if this is normal for Switch games or not but I thought it was interesting. pic.twitter.com/dVYnXsRUUx

That said, we caution readers to take this information with a grain of salt, as it could just be leftover code that will remain unused. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
