Last week, a software exploit for the Switch 2 was discovered and shared online, allowing Switch 2 owners with the right equipment to jailbreak and hack the console for the first time.
Since then, reports have surfaced that the first Switch 2 game roms are now being dumped online. As shared via @ProjLightning and others, roms for Mario Kart World, the first four chapters of Deltarune, and even a ROM for the Duskbloods beta are now circulating. Aside from supporting datamining efforts, these roms could also eventually open the door for Switch 2 emulators to be developed.
Although not explicitly stated, it is presumed that these rom dumps were facilitated by the aforementioned software exploit, which Nintendo is already taking steps to address. Even so, it may only be a matter of time before modders and hackers find another way into the console. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
