Rumors surrounding the initial launch stock for Nintendo Switch 2 have started circulating among the Nintendo community in France, suggesting that the console may be readily available at launch.
According to various sources, Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch with 300,000 units in France. This is three times larger than past Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 launches, which saw 100,000 units and 107,000 units on launch day respectively.
Out of the 300,000 units, the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle makes up 220,000 units, and the standalone console accounts for the remaining 80,000 units. This means that the ratio between the Mario Kart World bundle and standalone console is roughly 7.3 to 2.7. Given that the Mario Kart World bundle offers the game at a lower price, the ratio makes a lot of sense as most customers would aim for that.
The same allocation ratio (7.3 to 2.7) should also apply in other countries worldwide. Based on these numbers from France, Nintendo Switch 2 launch shipments could be anywhere between 7 to 10 million units worldwide.
A source that works with major French retailer FNAC also claimed that the Nintendo Switch 2 had the best start for pre-orders in FNAC’s history; they saw 10,000 pre-orders in 12 hours.
