Fans of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl could be in for a treat soon, based on a new and intriguing discovery.
PokeShopper – a reputable enthusiast of Pokemon merchandise, has unearthed some interesting movements happening behind the scenes. Namely, various manufacturers (e.g. Takara Tomy, Bandai) seem to be ramping up reproduction of merchandise for Generation 4 Pokemon such as Arceus, Palkia, Dialga, Pachirisu, and more. These products appear to be heading to shelves sometime in 2020 – implying a major refocus on the Sinnoh region again.
How is this discovery important? When Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee were heading to Nintendo Switch last year, The Pokemon Company similarly ramped up production of Kanto merch in late 2016/early 2017 – thereby boosting attention on Generation 1 Pokemon. If history is repeating itself here, The Pokemon Company might be preparing to hype up fans for possible HD remakes of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl in a similar manner!
You can check out PokeShopper’s full analysis of this leak below (starts at 4:10).
