Rumor: Pokemon’s Creatures Inc. Publishes R&D Job Listing For “Next Gen Hardware”

With the release of Pokemon Scarlet And Violet just over the horizon, a new rumor has surfaced which could hint at what’s next for the franchise.

This rumor comes through a job listing from Creatures Inc., one of the three companies responsible for the Pokemon series. This job listing is for a 3D character modeler, which is in line with the primary work Creatures contributes to Pokemon. Most notably however, is that the job listing mentions research and development for “next gen hardware” as one of the role’s main responsibilities, as well as Unity and Unreal Engine as some of the tools they are expected to use.

In theory, this could be a job listing in preparation for the next installment of the Pokemon mainline games, which will likely be for Nintendo’s next console after the Switch. For now though, this remains merely speculation, and it will likely be a few years before we hear anything concrete on that front.
