Today we have some interesting news on Scalebound, the canceled Microsoft Xbox One exclusive developed by PlatinumGames.
Yesterday, Game Informer senior editor Imran Khan revealed at the Kinda Funny Games showcase that Nintendo was planning to revive a canceled game for Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Insider has published a report claiming that the canceled game is none other than Scalebound, the fantasy action game Hideki Kamiya has been dreaming of all his life. Scalebound will be developed exclusively for Nintendo Switch. Nintendo Insider says this comes from sources they work with, and have full confidence in what they have said.
As Scalebound is a very graphically demanding game and given Microsoft’s prior involvement in the project, it is unclear whether PlatinumGames will rebuild it from scratch, and whether they have to downscale the game in order to accommodate the weaker Nintendo Switch hardware.
Having Scalebound on Switch is not impossible as Devil’s Third, a game originally intended to be a Xbox 360 exclusive, became a Wii U exclusive a few years later.
