Earlier this year, SEGA announced Sonic X Shadow Generations, a remaster of Sonic Generations which adds a new story campaign featuring Shadow The Hedgehog.
Although more specific details about the new campaign are scarce, fans believe that SEGA might be adding a new playable character in addition to Shadow. This speculation comes via an update to the official website for the game, which shows a “Coming Soon” portrait next to Shadow’s under the “characters” page. The equivalent page on Sonic’s side features Classic Sonic, the two playable heroes of the original game.
This image has many fans speculating on who the other playable character might be, ranging from a “classic” rendition of Shadow, his villainous counterpart Mephiles, or someone else related to Shadow like Maria Robotnik. That said, we caution readers to take this with a grain of salt, at least until SEGA officially updates the page.
