Following the film’s delay to April 2023, it seems fans may have to wait even longer to see Illumination’s highly anticipated Super Mario Bros. animated film.
Illumination Studios Paris, the subsidiary of Illumination responsible for its animated projects, has updated its official website about the film, listing its release date as Holiday 2023 as opposed to April 2023. If accurate, this could imply a delay of at least 6 months, given that the holiday season is typically taken to start in November.
At the time of this writing, an official announcement of a delay has yet to be shared, and some speculate that the date could be a mistake tied to some other revivisions that the website underwent recently. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
