Heads up for those of you purchasing Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package for Nintendo Switch – there is apparently a huge misconception about the multiplayer options the game supports.
Various marketing material for Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package have claimed that the game supports “couch co-op” for up to 2 players. Many assumed this means the game supports splitscreen co-op play for up to 2 players on the same Nintendo Switch, but apparently that is not the case.
Reddit user manuelgcg reports that the “couch co-op” mode is nothing more than local multiplayer – which means you need to have two Nintendo Switch systems, each with a copy of Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package, to enjoy co-op mode.
All this confusion wouldn’t have happened if Deep Silver called it local multiplayer than “couch co-op”, since many Nintendo Switch games use the term “local co-op” to refer to multiplayer gameplay on a single Nintendo Switch.
