Want to play more 2D style Metroid games in the future? You better be buying Metroid: Samus Returns!
In an interview with Metroid series producer Yoshio Sakamoto, Sakamoto said he would love to work on another 2D Metroid game, but it all depends on how much support Metroid: Samus Returns receives in terms of sales.
Here’s his full statement:
“Through the development of Metroid: Samus Returns, I was able to really grasp the possibility and fun of a 2D Metroid. Like when I finished the first game, if there is another opportunity to make another Metroid, that is something that I would love to do. Of course, that really depends on how much people really want to buy a 2D Metroid.”
Metroid: Samus Returns launches exclusively on Nintendo 3DS on September 15, 2017. Grab a copy if you want 2D Metroid games to have a future!
