Sakurai: Decision To Include Every Fighter In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Made From Very Start

Masahiro Sakurai has revealed more details about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s development in his latest interview with Nintendo Dream.

In the interview, Nintendo Dream asked Sakurai to elaborate on the decision to include every single Smash Bros. fighter in history in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Sakurai confirmed the idea was included in the very beginning, as early as the business proposal. This means it wasn’t a decision that came halfway through development.

Sakurai explained it was important for the idea to be part of the proposal, as huge projects like this require a lot of money and a lot of people, so they couldn’t risk any failure.
