Sakurai: I Haven’t Found A Suitable Director To Replace Me For The Smash Bros. Series

As you all know, Masahiro Sakurai has directed every single Super Smash Bros. game, including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Due to Sakurai’s obsession for perfection and doing the best he can for the series, he served as director for every title in the series, never letting go of his position. In a recent Game Informer interview, Sakurai revealed that up till now, he hasn’t found someone suitable to replace him. Here are his full words:

“Thinking in terms of game development, I should probably entrust this all to someone, but I haven’t really found that someone yet…”

We hope Sakurai will take a well deserved vacation after December 7, and perhaps start finding that someone before he burns out.
