In addition to revealing the final 12 games for the Mega Drive Mini, SEGA has also announced a special “Mega Drive Tower Mini” set to help you re-live the console wars in mini form!
Sold separately from the Mega Drive Mini itself, this special accessory set includes all the mini peripherals you need to recreate a fully decked out “Mega Drive Tower”. This includes not only the Mega-CD (Sega-CD), but the infamous 32X and even a false cartridge to put on top. That said, these add-ons don’t actually function as upgrades to the console, and are there just for decorative purposes.
The Mega Drive Tower Mini set is scheduled to release on September 19, the same day as the Mega Drive Mini. It will be priced at around 3980 yen, and will be available in limited quantities at stores which carry the Mega Drive Mini. It is currently unknown if a western version of these accessories is planned.
