SEGA has announced a new program for fans of their games.
Fans can now sign up for a free “Sega Account“, an online profile for their games and services that will give benefits to account holders. The first example of this is a special outfit for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, but will presumably expand to other games in the future. Players will also eventually be able to view various records for the games they have played.
This launch has some speculating that it could be tied into SEGA’s “Super Game” project, an ongoing “large scale global title” focused on “online community” and “IP Utilization”. Sega Accounts would certainly tie-in nicely with this concept, but Sega themselves has yet to share any information about what this Super Game actually is, other than it will launch in 2026.
