SEGA, the publisher behind Sonic The Hedgehog, Persona, and other major videogame franchises, has set up a new subsidiary in Singapore.
Sega Singapore Pte. Ltd was officially established on October 13th 2022, and makes SEGA the latest major Japanese game publisher to set up an office in Singapore. According to SEGA’s official press release about the new branch, its main purpose is to “undertake local market research and marketing” to strengthen its initiatives in the growing Southeast Asian market. Singapore was chosen due to being a “major hub” in the region that has a “convenient location and its business-friendly government policies”.
