Last year, SNK had officially confirmed that a new Metal Slug title for consoles was finally in development. There’s been much radio silence since then, but it looks like we might not have to wait too much longer to learn more about the game!
SNK Corporation executive director Se-Hwan Jeon recently affirmed more details about this new Metal Slug console title. Namely, the game will still be a run-and-gun shooter like previous entries in the series – and SNK is planning to launch it in 2020.
In addition to this, SNK also announced that a new Metal Slug mobile game was also in the works. This mobile title is already 80 percent complete, and will apparently be some sort of ‘2D side-scrolling card-type game’ launching in 2020 as well.
For now, there’s no confirmation if the new Metal Slug console title is heading to Nintendo Switch. We’ll report back as we hear more in the future.
