Back in 2014, SEGA launched Sonic Boom, a reimagined spin-off of the mainline Sonic franchise comprising a series of games, as well as a surprisingly well-received cartoon show.
In a recent Reddit AMA, Sonic’s Chief Brand Officer Ivo Gerscovich responded to a fan asking about whether any new Sonic Boom entries were in the works at SEGA. According to Gerscovich, SEGA still plans to support the Sonic Boom branch, but there are currently no new games or cartoons in the works:
“We plan to keep Sonic Boom airing and selling games, but at the moment there are no plans for a new Sonic Boom specific TV series or game.”
